The Pokrovskaya Church is located on Seydi Kochesi, a fifteen minute walk north east of the town center. It is on the site of a former Russian Garrison known as Nikolsky. It is a beautiful church in the middle of the Russian Quarter. Although built in 1900, the church looked brand new, as it was well maintained. The building was brown brick with white highlights. The bell tower was at the top of the church, and had a green pointed roof, with a gold onion dome and an orthodox cross atop. Another golden cross was in front of the bell tower at the top of the main building.
