Shangas Larger in Area and densely populated Township being tehsil headquarter besides block head quarter, in valley Kashmir .Constituency Kuthar is now known as Constituency shangas .In Shangas there is a famous Jamia Masjid which was constructed under the supervision of most revered personality Kh. Mohammad Maqbool Khan in Forties of 19th cent. This Jamia Masjid is third in number in valley Kashmir . Shangas occupies a central place in the constituency and Shangas is now known as Greater Shangas . There are all most all the Govt. Offices including Boys. Hr. Sec. School, Sub- District Hospital,Block Vet. Hospital, Banks, Govt. Treasury , as many as twelve schools etc.Poluation is about ten thousand.Khan's, Peers ,Veerays,Lachoos are the most respectable families. |
