Since 1936, the Government Service Insurance System has been providing social security benefits for government employees, including life insurance, retirement, and disability for work-related contingencies.

The GSIS, through its General Insurance Fund, is also the Philippines’ State Insurer for all assets and properties which have government insurable interests.
