Acquired by donation in 1895. Designated in honor of Brig. Gen. George Wright, U.S.V., veteran of the Indian wars.
Formerly home to the Headquarters, 21st Infantry Regiment from 1919 to 1921, the Headquarters, 4th Infantry Regiment from 1922 to 1941, the 58th Infantry, less 1st Battalion from 1921 to 1922, and the 4th Infantry, less 1st and 3rd Battalions from 1922 to 1940.
