The Houma-Terrebonne Airport/Industrial Park is developed from the World War II Naval Land Installation located in Houma, LA, in Terrebonne Parish. The Installation's primary responsibility was the surveillance of German U-Boat activity in the Gulf of Mexico. After the war, the federal government, by way of a quit claim deed, transferred the Naval Land Installation to the local government.
