Theatre with a capacity of around 400, reconstructed in the 1970s after fire damage and opened in 1982. Much of the Mitchell Library's collection is actually housed in this building, not the Mitchell building itself. Complete with lots of dark wood, and gaudy orange and bright green 1970s carpets. A major refurbishment in the 2000s saw a much needed facelift to the grim concourse, and it is now quite an attractive public space.

The original facade is from the 1870s.
