This spot is home to a statue of the most well-known cartoon characters created by William "Bud" Neill (1911–1970): the "Sheriff of Calton Creek" Lobey Dosser, atop his 2-legged horse El Fideldo ('Elfie' for short), and his nemesis Rank Bajin. The statue was commissioned by regulars from the nearby Halt Bar.
It's interesting to note that, perhaps not entirely surprisingly, this statue is believed to be the only 2-legged equestrian statue in the world.
