Glamis Castle

Glamis Castle belongs to the Earl and Countess of Strathmore and is open to the public. It was the childhood home of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, who became the wife of King George VI and mother of Queen Elizabeth II. A picture of the castle appears on the Royal Bank of Scotland ten pound note. It also appears in Shakespeare's play Macbeth.
