YES,,THE WHITEFIELD RAILWAY STATION IS ABSOLUTELY FAR FROM THE MAIN AREA WHAT WE CALL "WHITE FIELD" ACTUALLY RAILWAY STATION IS IN PLACE KADUGODI BUT GENERALLY ITS CALLED "WHITE FIELD RAILWAY STATION" ITS < 3KM FAR FROM WHITEFIELD.

No place has seen devwlopmwnt as wfld has seen over past 10 years..the land and rent price have gone up by 2500%...a 30*40 site would cost 40000 t0 50000..now its more than 60 lakhs...

The other places of significance in whitefield include..MEER SAHEB SHOP..it was called shop it was the only provision store arrond whitefield for many decades..it was started in the year 1932..but now due to intense competition from outsider it lost its sheen..

BSNL provides decent service, especially in the various townships (Palm Meadows/Lake Vista/Ozone, etc). There are a few local proveders as well - you can ask your cable/telephone providers for people to get in touch with. My experience with BSNL has been good, however.
Banaswadi is quite far (maybe 25-30km or so) from Whitefield, like most other places ;-)
You can reach it via the outer ring road, by going towards Hebbal lake, and taking a left turn at Kamanahalli, or through town by going over the Richmond Flyover. I would recomment the outer ring road though, as it will have far less traffic than going through town.
