The station was opened in 1834 as the city terminus of the Dublin & Kingstown Railway which was the first 'commuter' line in the world. It is the headquarters of Iarnród Éireann's DART service. Referred to as Dublin Pearse on commuter train PA's.

and i remeber Pearsons Street station in Dublinsfields in 1890 i got the train from Smith STREET AND i saw the famous two overheaded rooves of PEARSONS STREET | ||||
