Galata Tower (Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality)

One of the Istanbul's most striking landmarks, it is a huge, cone-capped cylinder that dominates the skyline on the Galata side of the Golden Horn. It is all that remains of the city walls that protected the Genoan section of Istanbul; they were removed by the governing authority of the time.

  • to get a survey over istanbul u have to go up there. the beer in the restaurant up there is not cheap, but the breathtaking view isn't cheap neither...
