One of the oldest houses in Detroit. It dates from the early 1800s and was originally one of the "ribbon farms" granted to early settlers. The land grants were only a few feet wide to give all landowners access to the river, and extended inland several miles. Currently, the building houses offices of the Detroit Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
