The original rest home was for Christian workers in the Beulah Heights neighborhood in 1913 and occupied a structure built circa 1896. When the rest home was badly damaged in a fire, it was replaced by a new building in 1928. An addition was built in 1951. Many of the cottages were constructed in the 1950s and the three unit building on Fair Avenue was built in 1963.
