The site of David Horsley's Bostock Jungle Film Company.
Horsley started Hollywood's first movie studio and produced Hollywood's first movie in 1911. He and his brother William, and their partner, Al Christie, are considered among Hollywood's pioneers.
Horsley merged with several other small companies to form Universal Pictures, Horsley was it's treasurer. After selling his interest to "Uncle" Carl Laemmle, Horsley opened this studio producing low budget jungle movies. Shortly after opening the studio he went broke.
