Nude beach. So named because while there were originally no 'cuts' for a long way north or south, at this location boats could be 'hauled over' from Biscayne Bay to the Atlantic and back. In the 1940s, the Army Corps of Engineers blasted out 'Haulover Cut' just to the south of this beach.
All over Miami, water passages are referred to as 'cuts' - Haulover Cut, Bear Cut, Government Cut, etc.
