Orange Grove has seen many changes over the last few years. There used to be a lot of Italian and Jewish families living in the area. Most kids used to meet at Patterson park or go watch a movie at the cinema which was at the corner of Louis Botha and 10th Street. Many changes have taken place in Orange Grove and it currently contains a different flavour since 1994. Orange Grove has seen some tough times , mostly due to the deterioration of Louis Botha Ave. It however still does retain a feeling of community.

  • The Kentucky Fried Chicken on 13th Street is the first one in South Africa, though obviously renovated a number of times since the first opening.
  • Was my home Since 1957. I remember the Dondorps confectionery where my mom sent us to buy bread and cookies in Dunnator Street.
