A four-lane bridge carrying US 27 over the Caloosahatchee River. The new, taller concrete span opened in 1999. Mamie Langdale was a bridge tender for the old U.S. 27 bridge over the Caloosahatchee River in Moore Haven. The designation of the new bridge in Langdale’s honor is supported by the Moore Haven City Commission and the Glades County Commission, and was dedicated by Florida House of Representatives Bill 43, on March 19, 2003.
It was formerly a small, 2-lane drawbridge that would stop traffic in both directions every 30 minutes, called the Moore Haven Bridge or Caloosahatchee Bridge.
