Formerly known as the Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL) Building, the center first opened in 1925 when Indianapolis Power & Light moved from 48 Monument Circle. The building was extensively remodeled in 1964. The center is notable for its elaborate window lighting sequences that can be programmed in commemoration of special events.
