  • They were the enemies of the United States but the German navy was the least political force of Hitler's military. All those personnel on the U-166 were brave, patriotic and serving their country. They had families that were terribly hurt by their loss, just as our U.S. survivors were. After all these years, we can honor the German dead, along with our own.
