A town in the North-East of The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Founded in 1643 (other data - 1644) by Russian Cossack Mikhail Stadukhin. Initial name - Yarmonga (Ярмонга) comes from Russian word meaning "fair" due to annual all-Kolyma and Indigirka fair usually held in spring.
