Held eight 18-pound guns on rampart carriages to fire south down the river. A shot furnace and landing pier were also located here. a battery was added to the north during the first half of the 19th century. Two 15" guns were installed in 1864. The brick magazine and two sod-covered concrete magazines were added by 1871. Today the site serves as a picnic area.
