Dedicated June 29, 1996, the Tennessee Monument coast $14,000 and was funded by the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Constructed of unpolished granite shaped as outline of Tennessee, this monument is dedicated to the soldiers who served in the defense of Vicksburg. Inscribed on the memorial is:
"Honor to those who never sought it; Fame to those who never wished it; Glory to those who never dreamed it; Immortality, for they earned it--The Confederate Soldier of Tennessee."
