The University of Akron's original football stadium. It was first constructed in 1940 adjacent to Derby Downs. It was best-known as the home of the University of Akron Zips football between 1940-2008 but it hosted countless other events including concerts and political rallies. The University purchased the stadium for $1 in 1971. The final Zips home game was played on Thursday, November 13, 2008. The Zips now play on the new on-campus InfoCision Summa Field stadium.

On January 30, 2013 the University sold the stadium to Canton-based Team1 Marketing Group who planned to turn the stadium into a mixed-use entertainment complex. The stadium would also have been home to the non-profit Summit County Storm beginning in fall 2015. The Stadium is in extremely poor condition and heavily vandalized as of August 2016.

Summit County foreclosed the stadium in October 2017. It is slated for demolition.
