  once this was the biggest village in the neighbourhood. known for business and trade. home of ancestors of many vip families of tirupattur. lovely buildings and one big temple with a big car festival lasting for ten days. the garuda, elephant, horse vahanas were very beautiful. there was a fort here but its ruins have been levelled without understanding its significance. the beauty of mallapuram temple near here has to be seen to be believed. but it is in in ruins and no one seems to take care. now the village looks deserted everywhere except the main bazaar. people of the neighbouring villages have access to nearby towns by town bus routes and that could be one reason for the decay of this village
