Both the temples in Pazhayannur- the Bhagavathy temple in Thekkethara and Sri Krishnan Temple in Vadakkethara are still visited by devotees from ALL over the world including our family- P. V. ViswanathaIyer's family - and conduct annual events like Aarattu,Niramaala,Navarathri vilakkukal sponsored for nine days by different organizations and the local offices, including the Police,Revenue etc.
Famous artsits have been brought for entertainment during the nightly celebrations inclduing Karnatic Musicians like Chembai,ariyakudi etc., and Kathakali,Ottanthullal and Kathakalakshepam.
The Sivan Temple owned privately by the Priest's family also attracts hundreds of devotees and they conduct annual events for Thiruvathira and Sivarathri.
The tradition continues even today and people contribute very generously to all these Mahakshethras very generously.
I would personally request all the residents,and ex residents of this village to bring out a souvenir and a book illustarting the Glories of these temples and the Dieties therein. I worship them in our house all the time and have encouraged my two sons to continue the tradition.
