The Builders Arms Pub (London) | restaurant, pub / public house, commercial building

United Kingdom / England / Westham / London / High Street, 302
restaurant, pub / public house, commercial building

Prominent pub on a green, attractive corner of Stratford High Street.

This is a large local's pub on the edge of Stratford with a lot going for it. The interior's a mix of traditional pub features (think horseshoe shaped bar) and more trendy pub couture, which works somehow. Prints of old Stratford line the walls - and bizarrely, the front page of a newspaper from the day of the Titanic disaster - comfy chairs and stripped floors, none of which detracts from the 'ambience'. With cheap beer on tap (if mostly lager, there was only one ale on tap when we were in last), stalwart and friendly regulars, and large tellies, it's a bit of a haven from the bars and clubs nearby. It's got seats outside to enjoy any good weather in East End world, if you don't mind being inches from the busy High Street. Still, it's a good place to watch the sport or play a little pool without any hassle and have a few beers.
