  • because the space used to be cheap, artist venues started moving in, especially theaters (like the Cabot, Off Broadway, and Broadway Theater Center.) Where there's theatre space, upscale restaurants and bars follow. The Third Ward also has the Milwaukee Public Market, a european-style grocery store.
