palace, ministry / government department, interesting place

The Sager House (Swedish: Sagerska huset) or Sager Palace (Sagerska palatset) is the official residence of the Prime Minister of Sweden. It is located between Rosenbad, the Government Chancellery and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. It lies across from the Riksdag building, on Helgeandsholmen and the Royal Palace on Stadsholmen. It was acquired by the Swedish government in 1988. It was known as the Sager Palace until Prime Minister Ingvar Carlsson moved in. Carlsson claimed it was against his political convictions to reside in a palace and the building was subsequently officially demoted to "house".
