Pheasant Island

The island is a condominium, under joint sovereignty of France and Spain, and so administered by Irun (in Guipuzcoa, Spain) and Hendaye (in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France), which are in charge of the island during alternating periods of six months. For the first six months (Jan to Jun) it is Spanish territory and for the last six mpnths it is French. Several royal weddings took place upon this isle.
