A bit of History:
This site used to be the Concepcion Plaza where basketball, sipa and badminton competitions were held. Besides basketball, badminton was a very popular sport in Concepcion during the 50's, 60's and 70's. Proof of the poplarity of badminton were the many badminton shuttlecock or shuttle factories in Concepcion during those years.
The plaza's concrete stage saw many stage plays, amateur singing competitions, beauty contests, graduations, political rallies, senakulo and many different big events in Concepcion.
The plaza was also the place where free movies (LVN, Sampaguita, FPJ movies) were shown to the public via the mobile "pa-sine"
