Commemorates the dead from the volunteer militia who fought against the Fenian invasion force in the Battle of Limeridge (a.k.a. Battle of Ridgeway) on June 2, 1866. The monument by Robert Reid was unveiled on July 1, 1870.
The Canadian Volunteer Monument, honours nine Toronto militia volunteers from the Queen's Own Rifles including three University of Toronto student volunteers who fell in the Battle, and is located on the west side of Queen's Park Crescent in Toronto.
