It is situated enroute the famous Kokernag and Daksum Hill Stations. A quite famous village in the distt Of Anantnag [kashmir], the village has a Boys high school, a Girls Hr Sec school and an upcoming Govt Degree College.The Village has is highly populated now, and is the centre of trade in this region.
The village was having the people from both Muslim and Hindu religions, But Alas due to militancy in the state the Hindu residents to to fled the village and the surrounding areas to save their lives.
