St. Aidan's Community School was established in 1984. The Trustees are Loreto and Mercy Sisters and Co. Dublin V.E.C. The school spent its first year sharing part of the building in Killinarden Community School. It moved to its present building in Sept. 1985.

Connect St. Aidan’s Community School is developing student centered technology through an innovative learning culture in order to improve school attendance, participation in class and educational outcomes for the students. The Minister for Education visited St. Aidan's Community School on Tuesday, 17th April 2007 to launch the Connect School project.
