Originally built in 1974 as Doux Chene Apartments. During the 1970's and early 1980's, Doux Chene Apartments was known as a popular hot spot due to the night clubs and restaurants which have been housed in the second floor of the leasing office building, starting with Mansard House, an upscale restaurant, though by 1980 that had given way to nightclubs. It was damaged by an F1 tornado on December 29, 2006, causing $4 million in damages and taking just over a year to complete repairs. In April 2015, it was rebranded as "Flats on 12" with further renovations coming.
