Port of Entry Nanping
Port of Entry Nanping is at present mainly for road transportation. Facing Musan port of North Korea, it is located in Dehua Town of Helong City (at east longitude 129∑12´& latitude 42∑15´), which is 50kilometers from Helong City. The Port of Entry Nanping was established long ago, it was subordinated to the administration of Sub-Checkpoint of Longjing Customs in the time of Pseudo Manchu. After new China was founded, Nanping Frontier checkpoint and customs were established in 1951, institutions like Nanping Health Quarantine, Quarantine for Animals and Plants, and Currency Exchange were built in 1975. Before 1994, the port was a channel mainly for facilitating mutual visit between border districts residents. Transportation between two ports was mainly by Shuttle Barge. Regional trading and barter trading were not launched until the completion of the temporary border crossing bridge in 1994. Items of exportation were mainly corn, fuel; imports were mainly iron ore powder, timber, seafood. The cargo transit capacity was 100,000tons/year, passenger transit 30,000man-times/year. It has been shut down since Jul 1996 when the temporary bridge was damaged by flood.

As there is no a bridge between the two ports, business transit is hardly possible. Considering the small scale of the port and obsolete facilities, it is placed on a list of reconstruction projects
