Mickey Rooney's first studio.

Build in the 19 teens as Pacific Film Laboratory, was subsequently occupied by Rolin (Hal Roach) ca 1917, Ben Wilson Productions (1921-24), National Bulls Eye, Berwilla Studios (1920-1924), Cal-Art Studio (1928-1929), Continental Prods (1930), Richard Thomas Studio ca 1927-28, and, its most famous incarnation, Larry Darmour Studio (1927-39). After WWII it was Family Films and Key West.

It consisted of a single stage and an admin building served for a while as Harold Lloyd's studio. In the late 20s and early 30s was the Larry Darmour Studio where Mickey Rooney made his famous "Mickey McGuire" series. Also used by the comedian Charlie Chase.

Lincoln Motion Picture Company was a tenant from 1916-1921. Lincoln was the premier black owned production company of the day producing ,movies with all black casts. www.hollywoodheritage.com/newsarchive/summer01/birchard... .

Sat vacant for decades and was finally razed in the 90s. Now a storage facility.
