HAL Airfield (Now closed for commercial operations)

HAL Airfield (Now closed for commercial operations) (ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು Bangalore- The Garden City of India)

Bangalore's former airport. The airport operations are now shifted to the new Bangalore International Airport near Devanahalli on May 24, 2008. The HAL airfield is now used only for aircraft testing and VIP visits. The airfield is maintained by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited which uses it to test and develop aircraft for the Indian Armed Forces. Manufacturing and overhauling of such aircraft has averaged nearly one per day (on a company-wide, All-India basis) over the 40 year life span of the firm.
