Beckton Gas Works (London)

Gas holder station on the site of part of the vast Victorian works which fed North London. Close in 1967, the site was "mothballed" for many years so that it could return to production of "town gas" from coal in case North Sea gas ran out. Most of the site has now been redeveloped.

  • Why Part of Gas Work? Where is the other part? I guess the other part was on the present site of Gallions Reach Shopping Park. I still remember this site, A13, etc.
