The Palace Theatre is located on London's Shaftesbury Avenue and is an imposing building that is hard to miss. It was built in 1891 as the Royal English Opera House but was closed down within a year due to a lack of shows being planned. In 1911, the theatre was renamed to its current name, the Palace and became home to popular musicals in later years such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserables and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
