Bhiwandi is a town in Thane district north of Mumbai with population of around 1 million. The town has high density of looms manufacturing cloth for large industries in Mumbai. It is surrounded by hills and has forest all around it except for south where it touches Mumbai.
Its a typical town in every respect but with large number of workers coming in from north and East Indian states. Majority of People living in Bhiwandi are from State of U.P and A.P. The original business of Bhiwandi was forestry and farming.

Power lines still run overhead and power cut is 7 hours a day.
Bhiwandi manages 2-3 degree celcius less temperature compared to Mumbai in South.

    Its a good city but lacking with transport system,actually govt is doing nothing when there is a frequent public transportation problem for reaching Thane or Kalyan its become a challenge for bhiwandians there is a heavy traffic in between a thane and bhiwandi via anjurpata route and same way via sai baba route where Mankoli area is facing the same.Even we hard to get Buses in both Kalyan and thane stand after a long Que for 1-2hrs then we are getting.Bhiwandi is a very rich people living area lots of rich people Black money is rotating here but no one want to develop this city just for hidding there secrets,land rate are not too much good we have 20times lower rate land as compare to Thane region land..
