Paiania also sometimes called Paeania or Peania, is a town in Greece east of Mount Hymettus and Athens and is a suburb of Athens. It has a population of 12,885 (2001 census). Until the late 20th century, the area was known as Liopessi (Albanian: Lopës - place of cows).
