Ganapathy Temple Kattilangadi, Tanur


Ganapathy Temple Kattilagadi is situated two km away from Tanur Railway Station and Town. It is collectively owned by the Saliya community settled in Kattilangadi. The year of temple completion is not known. However, it is believed to be more than 500 years old. The place called Kattilangadi was awarded to 32 Saliaya families migrated from the north by the then ruler (name not known) of the place for settling their houses and temple. Today, the community is grown up to more than 1000 families and spread over to the nearby areas. Kattilangadi is one of the most developed area in Tanur Panchayat. Many members are working abroad in the GCC countries and locally in the govenment departments.
