This interchange was constructed with the intent that the Davison Freeway would be extended east from it's current terminus around City Airport and south along Conner. When the City of Detroit blocked further freeway construction in the 1970's and funding dried up, this plan was shelved.

  • as proposed, the Davidson would have been the inner beltway in Detroit, Joining I-275/696 (at the middle Beltway) and US-23/I-69 (as the outer beltway) as beltways around Detroit.
