Zaharna Fabrika (Sugar-Refinery in English) is a neighborhood in Sofia, situated north-west of the city center. The quarter is named after Sugar-Refinery that was build here in 1898. In the time of its opening, the factory was 4km outside capital's center, near the place were Sofia-Kiystendil railway line crossing Sofia-Nish road. Later around the factory grow a whole quarter, nicknamed after it. Gradually that became the official name of the neighborhood.
