Back when Norfolk Southern used to run passenger excursions the annual Autumn Leaf Specials out of Atlanta would be turned here for the run back to ATL. In its later years this was often the former Norfolk Western "J" Class #611 4-8-4 steamer.
Sadly, Norfolk Southern discontinued its live steam program several years back due to excessive insurance premiums for such trips, and #611 now rests in a museum in Roanoke, VA.
