Monument to Autograph of President Kim Il Sung in Speech on His Triumphal Return. The first photo is a photograph of the crowd assembled to be introduced for the first time to General Kim il Sung. The middle photo shows Kim il Sung making his brief speech. This was the first occasion when General Kim was introduced to the general population of northern Korea.

  • This site, completed in 1987, marks Kim Il Sung's October 14, 1945 speech in which the population got their first real look at Kim. A mural illustrates the event (though no depictions of the Soviet sponsors are included), and a stone slab quotes Kim's remarks on rebuilding Korea.
