Lake Ozonia -- a lake by the east town line, originally called "Trout Lake." There are all sorts of huge trouts in there. ITs a pretty lake with a public boat lauch (small boats, 10 horse). Its got loons and merganzers, and its got a slalom course for waterskiing. Deer and Moose frequent the area. Owls can be heard all summer competing with the loons to break the night stillness. This lake has 1 main island, 1 small island and a few minor islets. You can see Blue Mountain (Azure) from many places on the lake, especially the smaller of the 2 biggest islands. Lake Ozonia can be found on the Lake Ozonia USGS quad topo map. Lake Ozonia is a lake in St. Lawrence County in the state of New York. The latitude and longitude coordinates for this lake are 44.5945, -74.6077 and the altitude is 1381 feet (421 meters). To walk around the lake would be about 8 to 10 miles total.

  • The old hotel here was named 'Ozonia' ('Good air'?) Gradually its name became associated with the lake itself. All for the best: there's ten other Trout lakes and ponds in the Adirondacks. Azure Mtn is also a unique name.
  • Didn't know the Hotel bit, that's cool!
