Elephantine Archeological Site

Elephantine Island was part of ancient Egyptian Jebu region (today Assuan, Jebu = Elephant country) and thus many remains of different Egyptian periodes were dicovered here (one of the focus od the Germen Archeological Institute). Among those are the Nilometer, Chnum Temple, Temple of Amenophis III and Thutmosis III
