The Imperial Fishing Lodge from 1889 is an unequalled attraction in the whole
world. Originally intended for Czar Alexander III, it is the only building outside
Russia built for the Imperial family. The Fishing Lodge is one indication of Kotka
having been a Russian fortress town. it is an
extraordinary delight to see how modestly the Imperial family wanted to spend
its time in its grand duchy of Finland.
