Subdivision suffered major damage during the April 9th , 1998 "Dunwoody" Tornado which struck shortly after midnight. This tornado was from the same supercell that spawned the f5 tornado in Birmigham AL earlier in the evening. Area was declared Federal disaster area but has recovered very well.
